Para fazermos a forma negativa acrescentamos not após o verbo. was not = wasn't were not = weren't

Para fazermos perguntas devemos trocar o sujeito e o verbo de posição.
Were you late? Yes, I was. / No, I wasn't. Was she a singer? Yes, he was. / No, she wasn't. Were they in Mexico last year? Yes, they were. / No, they weren't.
IMPORTANTE: O passado de there is é there was, e there are é there were. There is a party at school today. There was a party at school last night.
Past time expressions Podemos usar o simple past com estas expressões de tempo: this morning (esta manhã), yesterday (ontem), last night (noite passada), last week (semana passada), last month (mês passado), last year (ano passado)
