Simple Past: Regular Verbs
Usamos o SIMPLE PAST para falar sobre ações terminadas no passado.
No SIMPLE PAST o verbo é o mesmo para todas as pessoas (I, you, he, she, it, we, they).
I arrived at the airport at 7:00. Eu cheguei no aeroporto ás 7:00. You finished the book. Você terminou o livro. He wanted a coffee. Ele queria um café. She liked the movie. Ela gostou do filme. It rained yesterday. Choveu ontem. We studied Spanish at school. Nós estudamos espanhol na escola. They stopped at a café. Eles pararam em uma cafeteria.
Usamos o verbo auxiliar DID em frases negativas e perguntas no SIMPLE PAST.

Observe que nas frases negativas e nas perguntas o verbo nãomuda.

REGRAS PARA VERBOS REGULARES
Na regra geral devemos acrescentar -ed ao final dos verbos WORK > WORKED FINISH > FINISHED
Se o verbo terminar com -e, acrescentamos apenas o -d. LIVE > LIVED CHANGE > CHANGED
Se o verbo terminar com -y, devemos tirar-ló e substituir por -ied. CRY > CRIED STUDY > STUDIED
Se o verbo terminar em CVC (consoante - vogal - consoante), devemos repetir a última consoante e depois acrescentar a terminação -ed. STOP > STOPPED PREFER > PREFERRED
